The modern and more environmentally compliant plywood manufacturing cluster spread across the 3 Talukas of Muvattupuza, Kothamangalam and Thodupuza comprise of about 50 micro and small-sized units into plywood and related product manufacturing. The cluster has a turnover of about Rs. 412.50 crore and provides employment to about 8000 persons.

The Idukki Parliament Constituency Plywood Manufacturers Association comprises over 50 members. The cluster association has been working closely with the Kerala Plywood Manufacturers Association and has undertaken several development activities.
